For cafes and offices
We would rather have twenty accounts we know well
We roast for a small number of places within an hour of the door, and we would rather grow slowly than sell coffee we never see poured.

How it works
From the first email to the first delivery
Usually three weeks, and most of that is you making up your mind.
Tell us what you serve
How many drinks a day, what machine and grinder you run, and whether you sell more milk drinks or more black. Two lines is enough to start.
Samples
We send 250g of two or three coffees that fit, free, once. Pull them on your own machine in your own water before we talk again.
A morning on your bar
We come in before service, dial in the grinder with your staff and leave a recipe card taped to the machine. No charge on any account.
A standing order
We agree a weekly quantity and a delivery day. You can change the quantity up to the Monday before; nothing is locked in for a year.
Every few months
We come back, re-dial after a seasonal change or a grinder service, and taste through what is coming. Also free.
Minimums
What an account costs and what it commits you to
Prices are per kilo and they fall with volume. Nothing here has a contract attached to it.

Delivery
How the coffee reaches you
Roasted Thursday, out the door Friday, on your shelf the same day if you are close.
01
Within the town
We drive it ourselves on Friday morning, in the crates, and take the empties back. No charge at any volume.
02
Within an hour of here
Friday afternoon by courier, next-day tracked. Free above six kilos, a flat fee below it.
03
Anywhere else
Posted Friday, usually two days. We will say so plainly if the distance makes the coffee worse than a roaster nearer you.
04
When you run out
Email before eleven on a Thursday and we will add a bag to that week's roast. It happens to everyone in December.
Before you ask
The practical questions
Do you lend equipment?
No. We would rather you buy a grinder you own and can service than take a machine from us and be stuck with our coffee because of it.
Is there an exclusivity clause?
There is not. Several of our accounts run a guest coffee from someone else and we think that is healthy.
Can we get the same coffee all year?
The Bar Blend, yes; it is built to be consistent and the components change behind the scenes. Single lots run out and we will give you a month's warning.
Do you train staff?
Two people per account, half a day, here at the roastery on a Monday when the bar is shut. New starters can come to the next one.
What about decaf?
Nero Decaf is stocked all year in 1kg bags at the same price as the espresso roasts. It is not an afterthought and it should not be priced like one.
Can we visit before deciding?
Please do. Tuesday to Thursday mornings the roaster is running; come then and taste the same coffee we would be sending you.
Three samples, free, once
Tell us your machine and your drink mix and we will send the two or three that fit. Nobody calls you afterwards.
